About emi.me
emi.me is an independent tools-and-education site about loan EMIs. The premise is simple: a calculator should never be a black box. For something as consequential as a 20-year home loan, you deserve to see the formula, follow a worked example, and understand the trade-offs — not just stare at a number.
Who's behind it
emi.me is run by an independent editorial team that cares about getting financial maths right and explaining it plainly. We're not a bank, an NBFC, a loan aggregator or a broker, and we don't employ salespeople. That independence is the point: our only job is to help you reason about your loan, not to sell you one.
What we do — and don't — do
- We do build fast, accurate, free calculators and explain the maths behind them in plain English, with India-relevant context.
- We do publish our full methodology and unit-test the engine against independently computed values.
- We don't publish fake reviews, invented statistics, or "best lender" rankings driven by affiliate payouts.
- We don't give personalised financial advice. We give you the tools and the maths; the decision is yours.
Our standards
This is financial content, so we hold it to a higher bar. Every worked example uses a figure produced by our tested engine. Every regulatory point is stated as general information with a reminder to check your own loan terms. Default rates in the calculators are realistic ranges to get you started, never quotes. You can read exactly how it all works on the methodology page.
How it stays free
The calculators are free and require no sign-up, and we keep analytics minimal and privacy-respecting. If we ever add sponsorship or clearly-labelled affiliate links, they will never influence our explanations, our maths, or any ranking — and we'll say so openly.
Found a mistake?
We'd rather be corrected than be wrong. If a number looks off or an explanation is unclear, please get in touch — accuracy is the whole point of this site.
